This morning some one asked me "what did you do this weekend?". I could have told them that I finally sorted various lengths of styrene stock, pieces of wire and brass rod, wood and left over resin castings into containers.
I have now started saving the clear blister packaging and use it to store various items. It's a little bit like saving baby food jars to store old rusty screws and nails that you might need some day. I like it when the lids to the baby food jars are nailed to a piece of wood mounted to a turntable. (I doubt any of the hardware in the jars was used in it's construction). I think I found one in the basement of our house when we moved in. I do use modern baby food jars to store parts in. Yes, my certificate is coming in the mail. So, this is why when asked about my weekend, I just grunt.
I also almost completed these outer wing pylon bomb mounts for my A-20. This is for...shhhhhh, it's secret.
...speaking of secret, there is also this for next weeks "Scrapbox" contest. Again, "secret". This object will be entered into the club contest. It is considered poor taste to bring/show the model before the event. In fact, I may have already jinxed my chance to win by simply posting this.
I also drilled a number of .015 holes to mount the upper stage onto the lower stage of my Vostok. It had separated bringing it back from show and tell. I was so disgusted, I let it sit for weeks until I was ready. Fixing already-built models is a PITA. I knew I needed to cool down and take my time to get it right and not damage the already finished model. Building this thing in the first place was frustrating.
Here it is, hopefully now unbustable.
